ACACIA Hardwood – Material & Care Instructions

These instructions will help you enjoy your garden furniture made from acacia hardwood for years to come.

PROPERTIES OF ACACIA HARDWOOD

Acacia is a hardwood species sourced from fast-growing forests. The wood is strong, stable, and features a beautiful warm colour with a fine grain pattern. Natural variations in colour, texture, and grain are characteristic of the material—no two pieces of furniture are exactly alike.

Acacia is suitable for outdoor use but remains a living natural material. It may expand or contract slightly due to changes in temperature and humidity. Small hairline cracks or colour changes are normal characteristics of the material and do not affect its quality or strength.

DO NOT

• Cover the furniture for extended periods with a non-breathable cover (this may cause mould and discolouration).
• Clean with a pressure washer or abrasive cleaning products.
• Use aggressive cleaning agents or solvents.
• Place hot objects directly on the surface without protection.
• Allow prolonged contact with moisture, grease, or acidic substances (such as wine, coffee, or citrus juices).

FIRST AID FOR ACCIDENTS

• Spilled drinks? Remove liquids immediately with a soft, damp cloth to prevent staining.
• Grease stains? Clean with lukewarm water and a mild soap solution. Rinse thoroughly and dry well.
• Light scratches or stains? These can often be carefully sanded away using fine sandpaper (180–240 grit) in the direction of the wood grain, then treated again with wood oil.
• Deeper damage or discolouration? Contact your dealer for professional advice.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

To preserve the appearance and lifespan of your acacia furniture, we recommend the following:

1. Regular cleaning:
   Clean the furniture with lukewarm water and a soft sponge.
   If necessary, use a mild wood cleaner.
   Avoid aggressive chemicals or pressure washing.
2. Protection against weather conditions:
   Acacia is suitable for outdoor use, but prolonged exposure to sun and rain may cause the wood to develop a grey patina.
   This is a natural process and does not affect the quality of the wood.
   Would you like to preserve the original warm colour? Treat the furniture once or twice a year with a natural wood oil or wood sealer.
3. Winter storage:
   Store the furniture in a dry, well-ventilated place whenever possible.
   If this is not possible, use a breathable cover (never plastic or a waterproof tarpaulin) to prevent mould growth.
4. Prevent standing water:
   Dry the furniture after rainfall and ensure that water can drain away properly.
5. General safety (GPSR compliant):
   • Regularly check that all fixings and connections remain secure.
   • Only use the furniture for its intended purpose.
   • Avoid overloading or using the furniture on an uneven surface.

WARRANTY

Following these care and usage instructions correctly is a condition of maintaining the warranty.
Damage caused by improper use, aggressive cleaning products, incorrect storage, or weather conditions beyond normal circumstances is not covered by the warranty.
