ALUMINIUM – Material & Care Instructions

Congratulations on the purchase of your product!
These instructions will help you enjoy your aluminium garden furniture for years to come.

PROPERTIES OF ALUMINIUM

Aluminium is a lightweight, strong, and rust-free material that is ideally suited for outdoor furniture. Thanks to its natural corrosion resistance and powder-coated finish, aluminium is durable, low-maintenance, and weather-resistant.
The material is resistant to moisture and temperature fluctuations and offers a long service life when used and maintained correctly.

The construction of aluminium garden furniture consists of welded joints. These welds are carefully finished but may remain visible within normal production tolerances. This is a natural characteristic of manual or semi-manual manufacturing and does not affect the strength, safety, or durability of the furniture.

Minor variations in colour or gloss may also occur during the manufacturing process or as a result of weather exposure. These do not affect the quality of the product.

DO NOT

  • Do not clean with aggressive cleaning agents, chlorine, acids, or abrasive products.
  • Do not use a pressure washer or steam cleaner.
  • Do not use metal brushes or scouring pads, as these may damage the powder coating.
  • Do not cover the furniture for extended periods with a non-breathable cover, as this may trap moisture and cause staining.
  • Do not place sharp or heavy objects on the furniture that could cause scratches or dents.

FIRST AID FOR ACCIDENTS

  • Dirt or dust? Remove loose dirt with a soft cloth or sponge.
  • Surface dirt? Clean with lukewarm water and a mild washing-up liquid. Rinse thoroughly and dry carefully.
  • Grease stains or streaks? Use a soft cloth with a non-abrasive cleaner suitable for powder-coated aluminium.
  • Minor scratches in the coating? These can often be touched up with matching paint or a coating repair pen.
  • Damage to the powder coating or welds? Contact your dealer for professional advice.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

To preserve the appearance and lifespan of your aluminium garden furniture, we recommend the following:

  1. Regular cleaning:
Clean the furniture several times a year with lukewarm water and a mild soap solution. Use a soft sponge or microfibre cloth and rinse with clean water. Dry the surface thoroughly to prevent limescale stains.
  2. Protecting the coating:
The powder coating protects the aluminium against external influences. Regularly inspect the coating to ensure it remains undamaged. Avoid contact with aggressive substances (such as acids, chlorine, or solvents) that may damage the coating.
  3. Preventing corrosion at joints:
Although aluminium itself does not rust, metal components or screws may corrode when exposed to moisture.
Regularly inspect all joints and remove dirt or accumulated moisture around hinges and bolts.
  4. Protection against weather conditions:
Aluminium is weather-resistant, but prolonged exposure to rain, salt, or extreme heat may affect its appearance. Protect the furniture during winter or prolonged rainy periods with a breathable cover, or place it under shelter.
  5. General safety:
    • Regularly check all fixings and connections.
    • Only use the furniture for its intended purpose.
    • Avoid overloading or placing the furniture on an unstable surface.
