ROPE – Material & Care Instructions

Congratulations on the purchase of your product!
These instructions will help you enjoy your garden furniture made with handwoven rope for years to come.

PROPERTIES OF ROPE

Rope is a strong and durable synthetic cord specially developed for outdoor furniture. It is made from high-quality fibres (such as polypropylene or olefin) that are resistant to UV radiation, moisture, and temperature fluctuations. The material combines a luxurious textile appearance with excellent weather resistance and long-lasting seating comfort.

Each piece of furniture is handwoven, meaning that slight variations in pattern, cord thickness, or tension may occur. These subtle differences are a natural result of the craftsmanship and give every piece of furniture a unique, handcrafted character.

DO NOT

  • Do not clean with a pressure washer or steam cleaner.
  • Do not use aggressive cleaning agents, bleach, chlorine, or solvents.
  • Do not place hot objects or burning materials (such as cigarettes) on the rope.
  • Do not cover the furniture for extended periods with a non-breathable cover, as this may cause mould and discolouration.
  • Do not leave wet cushions or textiles on the rope for prolonged periods, as this may cause stains or moisture marks.

FIRST AID FOR ACCIDENTS

  • Dirt or dust? Remove loose dirt with a soft brush or a vacuum cleaner fitted with a soft brush attachment.
  • Surface dirt? Clean with lukewarm water and a mild soap solution, rinse with clean water, and allow the rope to dry completely.
  • Grease stains or stubborn dirt? Use a soft cloth with a mild fabric cleaner.
  • Loose or damaged rope strands? Do not attempt to repair them yourself; contact your dealer for professional advice or repair.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

To preserve the appearance and lifespan of your rope garden furniture, we recommend the following:

  1. Regular cleaning:
Clean the rope regularly with lukewarm water and a soft brush or cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvent-based cleaning products. Allow the rope to air dry thoroughly after cleaning, preferably in the shade.
  2. Protection against weather conditions:
Rope is weather-resistant, but prolonged exposure to sun and rain may shorten its lifespan.
Protect your furniture during winter or extended periods of wet weather with a breathable cover, or store it indoors.
  3. Prevent mould formation:
Rope dries quickly, but prolonged moisture or standing water should be avoided. Ensure adequate ventilation and allow the furniture to dry completely after rainfall.
  4. Handcrafted characteristics:
Each rope furniture piece is handwoven, which means slight variations in pattern, tension, or texture may occur. These characteristics emphasise the uniqueness and authenticity of every piece.
  5. Frame maintenance:
Regularly inspect the underlying frame (aluminium or steel) for dirt or corrosion. Clean with water and a neutral soap solution and dry thoroughly.
  6. General safety:
    • Regularly check the furniture connections and the tension of the rope.
    • Only use the furniture for its intended purpose.
    • Avoid overloading or placing heavy objects on the woven sections.
