PROPERTIES OF STAINLESS STEEL

Stainless steel is a strong, durable, and corrosion-resistant material that is ideally suited for outdoor furniture. Thanks to the alloy of steel with chromium and nickel, a protective passive layer forms on the surface, making the material highly resistant to rust and weather conditions.

Stainless steel is low-maintenance, hygienic, and offers a long service life when used and maintained correctly.
Welds and joints are carefully finished but may remain visible within normal production tolerances. This is a natural characteristic of the manufacturing process and does not affect the safety, strength, or durability of the furniture.

Depending on the environment (such as coastal areas or locations with high levels of air pollution), light surface deposits or discolouration may occur. This is a natural phenomenon and can easily be removed with regular maintenance.

DO NOT

• Do not clean with aggressive cleaning agents, acids, chlorine, or abrasive products.
• Do not use steel wool, scouring pads, or metal brushes, as these may damage the protective layer and cause surface rust.
• Do not use a pressure washer or steam cleaner.
• Do not cover the furniture for extended periods with a non-breathable cover, as this may trap moisture and cause staining.
• Avoid prolonged contact with iron-containing objects or materials (such as tools or metal lids), as these may cause rust stains.

FIRST AID FOR ACCIDENTS

• Dirt or dust? Remove with a soft cloth or sponge.
• Surface dirt or stains? Clean with lukewarm water and a mild washing-up liquid. Rinse thoroughly and dry the surface.
• Fingerprints or grease stains? Use a non-abrasive cleaner specifically designed for stainless steel.
• Light surface rust or deposits? Remove with a stainless steel cleaner or a specialised maintenance product. Always polish in the direction of the grain of the steel.
• Severe dirt or damage? Contact your dealer for professional advice.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

To preserve the appearance and lifespan of your stainless steel furniture, we recommend the following:

1. Regular cleaning:
   Clean the furniture at least several times a year (more frequently in coastal areas). Use lukewarm water with a mild soap solution and a soft cloth. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry carefully to prevent limescale stains and deposits.
2. Protecting the surface:
   The passive chromium layer protects stainless steel against corrosion. Do not use aggressive products that may damage this layer. Regular cleaning helps maintain and restore this protective layer.
3. Preventing surface rust:
   Although stainless steel itself does not rust, iron particles from external sources (such as dust or contact with ordinary steel) may adhere to the surface and cause superficial rust. Remove these promptly using a stainless steel cleaner.
4. Protection against weather conditions:
   Stainless steel is weather-resistant, but prolonged exposure to salt, moisture, or pollution may affect its appearance. Clean the furniture more frequently under these conditions and preferably store it in a dry, sheltered place during winter.
5. General safety:
   • Regularly check all fixings and connections.
   • Only use the furniture for its intended purpose.
   • Avoid overloading or placing the furniture on an unstable surface.

WARRANTY

Following these care and usage instructions correctly is a condition of maintaining the warranty.
Damage caused by improper use, aggressive cleaning, impact damage, or weather conditions beyond normal circumstances is not covered by the warranty.
