These instructions will help you enjoy your steel garden furniture for years to come.

PROPERTIES OF STEEL

Steel is a strong, stable, and durable material that is widely used in outdoor furniture because of its high load-bearing capacity and sleek appearance. To protect it against corrosion (rust), steel is usually finished with a zinc coating (galvanised steel), powder coating, or protective paint. As long as this protective layer remains intact, the furniture is highly resistant to weather conditions and will last for many years. Welds and joints are carefully finished but may remain visible within normal production tolerances. This is a natural characteristic of the manufacturing process and does not affect the strength, safety, or durability of the furniture.

Please note: unprotected steel can rust when exposed to moisture and oxygen. Regular maintenance and protection are therefore essential to ensure a long lifespan.

DO NOT

• Do not clean with aggressive cleaning agents, chlorine, acids, or abrasive products.
• Do not use steel brushes, scouring pads, or other abrasive materials, as these may damage the protective coating.
• Do not use a pressure washer or steam cleaner.
• Do not cover the furniture for extended periods with a non-breathable cover, as this may trap moisture and cause corrosion.
• Do not allow standing water to remain on the furniture, especially around joints or welds.
• Do not place sharp or heavy objects on the furniture that could cause scratches, dents, or other damage.

FIRST AID FOR ACCIDENTS

• Dirt or dust? Remove loose dirt with a soft cloth or sponge.
• Surface dirt? Clean with lukewarm water and a mild washing-up liquid. Rinse thoroughly and dry carefully.
• Minor damage or scratches in the coating? Touch them up immediately with matching paint or a coating repair pen to prevent rust formation.
• Small rust spot? Carefully remove light rust with fine abrasive paper (600 grit or finer) and apply a suitable protective paint or coating.
• More severe damage or corrosion? Contact your dealer for professional repair advice.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

To preserve the appearance and lifespan of your steel furniture, we recommend the following:

1. Regular cleaning:
   Clean the furniture several times a year with lukewarm water and a mild soap solution. Use a soft sponge or microfibre cloth. Rinse thoroughly and dry the surface completely. This helps prevent limescale stains and corrosion.
2. Protecting the coating:
   The powder coating or paint layer is the primary barrier against rust. Inspect it regularly for damage. Repair any damage immediately with suitable paint. Avoid aggressive cleaning products that may affect the coating.
3. Preventing rust formation:
   Pay particular attention to welds, screw connections, and the underside of the furniture where water may accumulate. Keep these areas clean and dry.
   If the furniture is exposed to prolonged rain or frost, use a breathable protective cover or place it under shelter.
4. Protection against weather conditions:
   Although treated steel is designed for normal outdoor use, prolonged exposure to moisture, salt, or frost may affect its appearance.
   In coastal areas or heavily polluted environments, more frequent cleaning is recommended.
5. General safety:
   • Regularly check all joints and fixings.
   • Only use the furniture for its intended purpose.
   • Avoid overloading or placing the furniture on an unstable surface.

WARRANTY

Following these care and usage instructions correctly is a condition of maintaining the warranty.
Damage caused by improper use, aggressive cleaning, impact damage, or weather conditions beyond normal circumstances is not covered by the warranty.
