TEAK – Material & Care Instructions

Congratulations on the purchase of your product!
These instructions are intended to help you get the most out of your teak garden furniture and provide guidance on its proper use and maintenance.

PROPERTIES OF TEAK

Teak is a natural material. Therefore, variations in colour and grain may occur; these are natural characteristics of the wood. Knots, hairline and shrinkage cracks, natural movement of the wood, and the development of a silver-grey patina are also typical features of this material. These characteristics do not affect the quality or durability of the product.

DO NOT

Cover the furniture completely with a non-breathable cover (this may trap moisture and cause mould growth).

• Scratch the surface with sharp objects.
• Clean with a pressure washer.
• Use abrasive cleaners or scouring products.
• Leave objects on the tabletop for prolonged periods or allow spilled liquids to remain, as they may cause staining.
• Place hot objects directly on the surface.

FIRST AID FOR ACCIDENTS

• Spilled drinks? Remove them immediately with a damp cloth before the liquid can penetrate the wood.

• Grease stains? Clean with warm water and a mild washing-up liquid, rinse thoroughly with clean water, and allow the surface to dry.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

To extend the lifespan of your teak garden furniture and preserve its natural appearance, we recommend the following:

1. Regular cleaning:
   Clean the furniture two to three times a year with lukewarm water and a soft brush or sponge. If required, use a specialised teak cleaner.
   Avoid aggressive chemicals or bleach.
2. Natural weathering:
   Untreated teak will naturally develop a silver-grey patina due to exposure to sunlight and rain. This is a natural process and does not affect the quality of the wood.
   If you wish to preserve the original warm colour, treat the furniture with a teak sealer or teak oil (preferably water-based and environmentally friendly).
3. Winter storage:
   Whenever possible, store the furniture in a dry, well-ventilated, unheated area. If this is not possible, do not use a sealed cover. Instead, use a breathable cover to prevent mould growth.
4. General safety:
   Regularly check that all fixings remain secure and that there is no structural damage.
   Only use the furniture for its intended purpose (for example, not as a ladder or step).

WARRANTY

Following these care and usage instructions correctly is a condition of maintaining the warranty.
Damage caused by improper use, incorrect cleaning, chemical exposure, or weather conditions beyond normal circumstances is not covered by the warranty.
